  1. 6th Grade Transition

    • Vision 2020 Connection
      • Equity in Access
        • Teach and expect academic behaviors that are important for success to all students.
        • Establish at all grade levels a comprehensive early warning system to identify students who are at-risk and respond by providing an intervention program that is research-based.
    • Key Questions
      • How can we leverage a "Bootcamp / Tbird Academy" model to support incoming students' initial transition to middle school?
        • WEB? Who? When?
      • What does academic rigor look like in 6th grade?
  2. Academic Support Systems

    • Vision 2020 Connection
      • Equity in Access
        • Expand opportunities for all students, including traditionally underserved populations, to participate in advanced-level learning opportunities.
        • Provide non-traditional programming options that combines high academic expectations and strong supports including accelerated learning, credit recovery, competency based diplomas, and flexible schedules.

      • How can we make a rigorous, academic schedule a reality for every student?

        • SSR/Advisory time for math, writing, and other intensive interventions

      • What common, building-wide strategies will support high student engagement over a 90-minute instructional block?
        • What does it mean to maximize academic learning time?
        • What will be common in all CBMS classrooms when you "buy a franchise?"
        • What strategy will we adopt to clearly communicate our learning targets, tasks, etc. to students and stakeholders?
      • How will we establish and communicate a culture of academic excellence?
